London, 204/206 Goswell Road

The Company moved from St George Street, East up to new premises at 204/206 Goswell Road in 1916, which had previously been occupied by a firm of piano makers, John Strohmenger & Sons Ltd.  A 20 year lease was taken from St Bartholomew's Hospital at £125pa.  The next year we added the adjacent buildings in 4 & 6 Powell Street for £90pa.

 

Both leases expired in December 1936, but were extended for a year and a quarter to March 1938, when the Company moved to a new factory at Angel Road, Edmonton, and the offices to 38 Charterhouse Street, Smithfield.

 

The buildings on Goswell Road and Powell Street were destroyed in a bombing raid in 1940.
